Nickie hadn't really planed on coming home for her birthday this year. I told her I was going to have a party for her 30th birthday with or without her, so north she headed!! She had a family reunion the same weekend so it worked out great. She and Rascal drove up on a Thursday and stayed with us until Wednesday. We had a great birthday party on Saturday and did a lot of "home" running around getting things for her to take back with her that she can't get in Florida. We of course HAD to go to Ann Arbor and we snuck in a trip to IKEA. The visit was way too short and I miss her already.
We would like to take this opportunity to give you a little glimpse of what is going on in the lives of the O'Connor's.

What's New?
A LOT...
It's safe for me to say now (or really MONTHS ago) that Mike's company CommerceGuys merged with a French company af83, hence all the trips to Paris Mike gets to take. He is getting ready to head that way two times in the next 30 days! Business is going good for them and they are all very excited about what the can accomplish in the world of e-commerce web development.
We found a GREAT deal on a GREAT house that we fit in, even Dutchess (our 130lb Great Dane). We have 7 acres, 2 barns, a pump house with a windmill (great place for a playhouse) and a chicken coop (I really hope to have chickens next year). The first thing we did was till up some land for the garden. :)
Because we moved Mia is getting ready to start the new school year at a new school. At her new school middle school starts in 6th grade! At her old school she wouldn't have started middle school till 7th... I though I had another year before I had a middle schooler! We are both a little nervous...
So now that we live in the middle of nowhere having one car is becoming a bit irritating (thank you Don & Kathy for letting Mike use the 4runner when we need it). But Mike just bought a new truck... OK not at all NEW. It is an old 1980's Chevy pick-up truck from the military complete with camo paint... Yikes! I'm not sure when I moved to the country that I signed up to have a hillbilly truck too. I am working very hard on talking Mike into getting it painted... wish me luck!
